About Us
Cimex Engineering, a subsidiary of Sucrotech (Pty) Ltd, commenced operation in March 2024 after rescuing the landmark engineering company servicing the local industry. The owners of the engineering company, previously known as Cimex Spares, Mercury Engineering and Nkozi Engineering, had decided to retire and were closing the workshops and selling the machinery off. Sucrotech (Pty) Ltd was reliant on Cimex Spares for some of our larger components machining and with the shutting down of Cimex Spares, we would not have been able to have our work done locally in KZN. Instead of buying only the machinery that were necessary to do Sucrotech’s work, we investigated the potential loss of technical skills and machinery to all local industries, including the Sugar industry of which Sucrotech is part. To save this from happening Sucrotech has bought 21 of the machines and together with part of the staff and machine technicians and have formed a new entity, now referred to as Cimex Engineering. Cimex Engineering, a division of Sucrotech (Pty) Ltd, is a machine engineering workshop operating out of 51 Henwood Rd, housing large horizontal, vertical, lathes, drilling and CNC machines all run by a separate autonomous staff which is overseen by Anthony Feeke the Works Manager. Cimex Engineering also incorporates a limited fabrication and welding department to manufacture, repair or refurbish equipment before carrying out final machining.
Staff
Twenty three personnel make up Cimex Engineering staff with twenty of them being Operator Technicians, Programmers and Machinists all long time employees with loyalty and dedication to Cimex Engineering
Group BEE policy

The company has no discriminatory employment policies and practices and conducts employment equity audits to ensure that these policies and practices continue to promote equal opportunity in the workplace as required by chapter 2 of the Bill. Although not required in terms of the Bill, we have where possible, implemented the requirements of Chapter 3 of the Bill and have undertaken voluntary B-BBEE Profiling the last results being a level one contributor and a 135% procurement recognition level.
